(NEW) Wenzel Fuchs’ Wurlitzer B Clarinet 100CS

“This Clarinet was hand-selected by me few months ago among tens of the same model Wulitzer clarinets.

The clarinet is nothing short of extraordinary. From the very first note, it’s clear that this instrument was built with uncompromising craftsmanship and artistry. The tone is rich, warm, and full of character, with a depth that carries effortlessly across registers. The clarinet responds with incredible ease—whether in delicate pianissimos or powerful fortissimos, it delivers with consistency and beauty.
What truly stands out is the precision of intonation and the evenness of sound across the entire range. Each register blends seamlessly, making transitions smooth and natural. The ergonomics are also superb: the keywork feels intuitive, balanced, and perfectly fitted to the hand, allowing for long practice sessions or performances without fatigue.
The 100CS doesn’t just play—it inspires. It has a voice that invites musical expression and rewards the player with nuance and color. For professionals and serious musicians alike, this clarinet is a partner in artistry, capable of bringing out the very best in your playing. I have played the clarinet at Berlin Philharmonic concerts in June ( Program John Williams).

In short: the Wurlitzer 100CS is a masterpiece—a clarinet that combines tradition, innovation, and soul in a way few instruments ever achieve.”

Wenzel Fuchs comes from a region where traditional wind music is highly valued. The Innsbruck native, scion of a musical family, was already playing the clarinet as a child in various wind ensembles. After first studying in Kitzbühel and Innsbruck, he went to the Vienna Musikhochschule, where he had the opportunity of playing as a substitute with the Wiener Philharmoniker.
He began his professional career as principal clarinetist of the Vienna Volksoper, then moving to the Austrian Radio (ORF) Symphony Orchestra and in 1993 to the Berliner Philharmoniker.
In addition to his work in the orchestra, Fuchs is active as a soloist and chamber player in, among other groups, the Philharmonic Wind Ensemble, Philharmonic Wind Soloists, Philharmonic Octet and the Philharmonic Friends of Vienna-Berlin.

He also teaches at the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, is a visiting professor at the Geidai University in Tokyo and holds an honorary professorship at the  Shanghai Conservatory. Wenzel Fuchs gives master classes throughout the world and is a professor at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

He also teaches in the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Orchestra Academy, held a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin (from autumn 2008 to summer 2012), a visiting professorship at Sakuyou Music University in Okayama, Japan and an honorary professorship at the Shanghai Conservatory, and he gives master classes all over the world. Wenzel Fuchs enjoys skiing and likes most of all to spend his free time with his family.
